Zionism Unsettled: A Congregational Study Guide
What role have Zionism and Christian Zionism played in shaping attitudes and driving historical developments in the Middle East and around the world? How do Christians, Jews, and Muslims understand the competing claims to the land of Palestine and Israel? What steps can be taken to bring peace, reconciliation, and justice to the homeland that Palestinians and Israelis share?
Zionism Unsettled embraces these critical issues fearlessly and with inspiring scope. The booklet and companion DVD draw together compelling and diverse viewpoints from Jews, Muslims, and Christians in Israel, Palestine, the US, and around the globe. By contrasting mainstream perceptions with important alternative perspectives frequently ignored in the media, Zionism Unsettled is an invaluable guide to deeper… More...

IPMN Tribute to Bob Simon of CBS News
Thank You Bob Simon
In April 2012, Carol Hylkema, who at the time was serving as the moderator of IPMN, sent a letter to Jeffrey Fager, then chairman of CBS News (he has since stepped down to return as Executive Producer of “60 Minutes”), to thank him and commend reporter Bob Simon for a news story which had aired that year about Christians in the Holy Land.
In that letter, Carol said that “Mr. Simon’s reporting laid bare the unreasonable requests of the Israeli government. To hear Ambassador Oren explain that he was against the story being broadcast because ‘he had information that it was a hatchet job’ tells the public that Israel wanted to censor the story before they even knew what the content would be… they expected CBS News to concede, but were surprised that… More...
Ending the Violence Is One Step Toward Liberation
Statement on the Recent Tragedies in Israel/Palestine
Nov 19, 2014 - We unequivocally condemn all acts of violence, whether committed by Israelis, Palestinians, or others, and affirm as people of faith that violence perpetrated against any of God's children is sinful.
We pray, in particular, for an end to the violence that has recently swept through Israel and Palestine. The murder of five people in a Jerusalem synagogue, the shooting of a 10-year-old child in Gaza, the hanging of a bus driver, the stabbings, the car attacks, the naval attacks on fishermen, are all tragedies and must come to an end.
However, we are well aware that if not a single shot were ever fired again, if not one more body… More...
